in About St. Louis

Yesterday morning on my drive to work, NPR mentioned that St. Louis had the lowest gas prices in the U.S.

For the last 6 years, many of my real estate clients have been people relocating to St. Louis. I heard again and again that gas prices in St. Louis were low compared to other parts of the country. Still, I never realized that our prices were some of the lowest in the U.S.

10 States with the Lowest Gas Prices:

1. Missouri
2. South Carolina
3. Mississippi
4. Delaware
5. Tennessee
6. New Jersey
7. Alabama
8. Arkansas
9. Virginia
10. Oklahoma

According to GasBuddy.com, St. Louis has the lowest average gasoline prices in the county today.

  • Today – $3.317
  • 1 Week Ago – $3.430
  • 1 Month Ago – $3.795
  • 1 Year Ago – $2.602

Prices may be dropping, but with as many miles as I drive as a real estate agent, I’m ready to go back to last year’s prices.

I’m sure you are too.

(UPDATE: It’s amazing what a couple of months can do. Today…11-13-08…I filled up my car at $1.89 and later passed another station selling gas at $1.79)
