Since November 2007, I have been publishing monthly housing market statistics for St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County.

I’m working on a new format to give you better information and an easier way to see trends so you don’t have to look through each of the old posts to see monthly changes. In the next month I’ll be rolling out a lot of changes to this website, and the market stats are one of the big improvements in the works.

In the meantime, I’d appreciate any feedback that you have for me on the new format. Instead of the old tables, St. Louis City and St. Louis County will each have charts focusing on sales for both single family and condo sales.

Plus, I will be including detailed reports on specific city neighborhoods and county school districts. Tomorrow, I’ll publish a preview of the detailed reports.

Here is a sneak peek of the charts I’ll be using for the county overview reports.

St. Louis City:

2008 9City1 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9City2 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9City3 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9City4 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

St. Louis County:

2008 9County1 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9County2 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9County3 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

2008 9County4 New and Improved Monthly Market Statistics

What do you think? Is this format easier to follow than the old market reports?

I’m interested to see the comparison of houses in the county with 2006 data if you have it.

Sarah, I’ll be happy to put together a chart for you for St. Louis County going back to 2006. I appreciate the suggestions since I think it would be helpful for a lot of people to see the trends for the last few years. I’ll add a chart going back to 2005

Sarah –

I didn’t recognize your URL address. I’m glad that you are still finding the info here helpful. I’m working on those updated charts now. You got me intrigued to see how the numbers chart out myself.

Sometime today I’m also going to get a post out showing the detailed info that I plan to do for each of the communities I plan to highlight. I’d love your input on that too.

The charts are great for a quick glance at historical data. Will these new charts replace the monthly Market Report (i.e. http://www.realestateinfostl.com/blogs/karen_goodman/archive/2008/08/08/st-louis-city-july-market-report.aspx )? I like the table

Angeline –

The new charts are going to replace the old tables, but I’m still going to cover all of the city areas that I did before, plus a few others that I had not been previously covering. I will be dropping a few of the the county school districts since I need to focus on the areas of most interest to my clients. Otherwise, I could spend all of my time doing stats and not leaving any time left over for my clients!

My goal is to give you more complete info by area in a format that is easier to see the trends.

Starting next month, each area will have a full report similar to the ones I did for the Brentwood and Ladue areas in recent posts. Hopefully you’ll find the information more complete as you watch the city market.

As soon as the new site is ready (in a few weeks I hope), I’ll have the data up for the city. Check back and let me know what you think.
