And the Winner is….
Last week I announced my Photo Contest #1 for a FREE St. Louis Builders Home & Garden Show ticket.
Photo Contest #1 solicited photos of St. Louis County or St. Louis City communities on my Market Report pages. Photos had to focus on outside scenes that showed off community landmarks, recreation, parks, entertainment districts…or just captured the essence of the area.
Jonathan Pollack owns J. Pollack Photography and takes really great pictures. I’m thrilled that he chose to enter my Home & Garden Show photo contest.
He also took a great picture of one of my favorite places in town. This street scene shows off University City’s Loop district, including one of the Loop’s longtime favorite restaurants Riddle’s Penultimate.

Photo Contest #2:
St. Louis community housing pictures needed…
One of the things I try to do with my market report pages is to give relocating buyers a flavor of the different communities in St. Louis City and County. My goal is to have pictures on each of my market report pages that show local landmarks, recreation, business districts AND typical housing.
Help me promote our unique communities by entering my Photo Contest #2 for a FREE ticket to the Home & Garden Show.
1. Submit a picture (or pictures) that represent any of the areas listed on my market report pages:
- St. Louis City
- Central West End+
- Downtown Loft District
- Lafayette Square
- Soulard
- South City
- South City – east of Grand
- Tower Grove/Shaw
- St. Louis County (school district boundaries)
- Brentwood
- Clayton
- Kirkwood
- Ladue
- Maplewood-Richmond Heights
- Parkway
- Pattonville
- Rockwood
- University City
- Webster Groves
2. The pictures can be shots that represent typical housing in the community OR can be outside scenes that focus on community landmarks, recreation, parks, entertainment districts…or just capture the essence of the area. Pictures that include people are fine as long as the people are in the background and not a focus of the picture.
3. Contestants can submit as many pictures as they want as long as they personally took all of the pictures. All pictures remain the property of the photographer, but the photographer grants permission for all submitted photographs to be used on the Arch City Homes website. All pictures used on the website will identify the owner and will link (when possible) to the photographer’s website or photo sharing profile. No pictures will be sold…they will just be used to highlight the St. Louis community.
4. Photos can be emailed to Karen Goodman by attaching the photos or sending a link to the photo on a photo sharing site such as Flickr. Each picture should identify the part of town where it was taken.
5. All photos need to be submitted by Monday 2/23/09. That’s only one week…so you have a great chance to win!
The photos will be judged on their ability to promote the part of town that they represent as a great place to live or play. It’s my contest, so I get to pick the winner.
The winner and runner up photos will be posted here with a link back to the photographers’ sites.
To make sure that you don’t miss any of the upcoming contest announcements (including contests for linking to this site or leaving a comment…no photography skills needed!), be sure to subscribe for future blog posts. Also, be sure to check out my articles on the Home & Garden show website.

Thanks, Karen! I’m happy to participate, and even happier to promote a great part of St. Louis.
