What is wrong with this picture?
One of my earlier Bad MLS posts pointed out the rule that you should NEVER photograph pets in MLS photos.
But why would you ever take pictures that included the seller’s kids. Remember, buyers are trying to imagine themselves in the house…and for many people little kids mean lots of sticky hand prints and scuffed walls. Don’t give them a reason not to come.
And more importantly, why would anyone want to show the pedophiles of the world their adorable children and then tell them where the children live? Internet safety 101 would suggest that this is a horrible idea.
St. Louis City (South City) home finally sold after 271 days for $120,000

St. Louis City (South City) home listed at $169,900

Buyers study pictures to decide if they want to come see your home. If you are selling your home, make sure your pictures don’t disqualify your home before the buyers even walk through the door.
If your home is already on the market, take a critical look at the pictures posted on your listing and ask your agent to redo any of the pictures that send out red flags. If you are preparing to list your home and haven’t yet selected an agent, I would welcome a chance to talk to you. For more information on what I offer my home listing clients, take a look at my FAQ for Sellers or send me an email.
