My goal ever since I started blogging back in November 2007 has been to provide regular articles with helpful information for homeowners, buyers, and sellers PLUS information aimed at St. Louis residents.
In a perfect world, I would post new articles to this site 2 or 3 times a week. Instead, I find myself posting daily for a week or two, and then going a couple of weeks without time to breathe, let alone to write new information to post here.
I hope you’ll forgive my absences here, since my first duty is to my clients who are buying or selling homes.
Busy is Good:
The last month has been unbelievably busy for me. I’ve gotten calls from former clients and made new connections with people needing to buy or sell who found me here, twitter or Facebook, or who were given my name from someone they knew.
It always seems like everyone needs you at the same time, and this year has been no exception. I’ve been busier than ever with January and February feeling more like a spring market than the end of winter. I even just placed an order for another 5 yard signs and purchased 5 more lock boxes on eBay (new ones are ridiculously expensive at $120 each).
Then, just to make my life a little crazier, I headed out of town for 4 days last week to soak up the latest housing trends and education at the Keller Williams Family Reunion (annual convention in non-KW lingo). I’m glad I made it a priority to put together a great team in the last year, so my clients were well taken care of while I was away.
Keller Williams Family Reunion:
Leaving town for 4 days in the middle of this year’s early spring season seemed crazy. But, since world class education is critical to me being able to really serve my clients, I knew I had to go.
I learned so much from the Keller Williams leadership and top agents last week. The information will help me improve my business and serve my clients.
Since I’m all about sharing, I plan to pass on to you some of the tips that I learned on the trip in the next few days.
I knew right away when I joined Keller Williams that it was the right move for me professionally, and my business and clients would benefit tremendously.
But I totally underestimated the impact my move to Keller Williams would have on me and my business.
As someone who has always gravitated towards small, locally owned businesses, it takes a lot for a national company to win me over.
Keller Williams has done it.
And I’m not the only one who thinks so.
JD Powers has awarded Keller Williams with the highest honors that is available for 2008 & 2009.

Keller Williams Realty received the highest numerical score among full service real estate firms for home buyers in the proprietary J.D. Power and Associates 2008-2009 Home Buyer/Seller StudySM. 2009 Study based on 3,138 total evaluations measuring 7 firms and measures opinions of individuals who bought a home between March 2008 and April 2009. Proprietary study results are based on experiences and perceptions of consumers surveyed April-June 2009. Your experience may vary. Visit jdpower.com
Real estate agents are also joining the company in record numbers. With only 3 offices in the St. Louis region today, Keller Williams is just getting started.
Nationally, it’s already a force impacting the industry.
2008-2009 % Change in U.S. Agent Count:
- Coldwell Banker – 12% down
- Century 21 – 18.1% down
- RE/MAX – 12.8% down
- National Association of Realtors – 4% down
- Keller Williams – 8.3% UP
Keller Williams is now the 3rd largest real estate company in the United States and the 4th largest company in North America. With the announcement last week that KW is expanding outside of North America and plans to open their first worldwide office in late 2011, the future looks very bright.
