St. Louis Magazine FIVE Star Customer Satisfaction Award ~ 5 Year Winner

Five years ago, St. Louis Magazine started working with Crescendo Business Services to survey St. Louis home buyers, lenders and title company professionals.

The goal of the award is to identify the best agents in the St. Louis region from the people who really count – the clients and the professionals who have to work with agents closely to get deals closed!

I was humbled when I learned that for the 5th year, my clients have made the effort to fill out the surveys to place their vote for me.

re 2010 logo St. Louis Magazine FIVE Star Customer Satisfaction Award ~ 5 Year Winner I recently found out that for the 5th year in a row, I am included in the select group of agents named as a FIVE Star Customer Satisfaction Award winner.

Each year, less than 7% of the region’s agents are given the award. When I talked to the salesman from Crescendo Services who tried to get me to buy a bunch of stuff to advertise the award, I asked how many of this year’s winners have won all 5 years since they started the program in 2005.

Amazingly, he said that only 5% of this year’s winners are 5 year winners. I’m humbled.

In 2009, there were 25,408 MLS-listed real estate purchases involving 6,093 agents (based on sales listed through the St. Louis region multiple listing service, MARIS, in the counties of: St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County, Franklin County and Lincoln County).

If we take these numbers, then there should be less then 427 agents who received the award this year. Based on the information that only 5% of the 2010 winners are 5 year winners, then only 21 of the 2010 winners have won the award every year since it was started.

In the interest of full disclosure, there really were 645 winners this year. I’m guessing that the 7% max for the award winners was based on the number of licensed agents in the area, even though a chunk of agents doesn’t close a single deal each year. Still, I’m happy to be one of only 32 agents who are 5 year winners.

Does this mean that I’m one of the 32 best real estate agents in St. Louis? That would be making some big assumptions, and I’m not going to go there. Still, I do think that it says something that my clients were the ones to make this award happen for me.
