Farmer’s market season is back and this year there are even more markets to choose from in the St. Louis area.

Maybe you are a farmer market regular, or maybe you just want to pick up the freshest peaches in town during harvest season.

This year I’m going to try to make it to all of the markets in St. Louis City and County. I’d love to hear about your favorite market – just leave a note in the comments.

I also just discovered a Google Map of most of the local farmer’s markets. One word of warning, much of the information about the farmer’s markets comes from website that are not updated each year. If you discover any information is wrong or find out a market is no longer operating, please let me know.

tomato.jpgSt. Louis City:

Downtown Farmer’s Market – June – October (Thursdays 4 – 7 pm)

North City Farmer’s Market – June – October (Saturdays 9 am – 12 pm)

St. Louis Community Farmer’s Market – November – April (2nd Saturdays 9 am – 1pm)

Soulard Farmer’s Market – Year Round (Wednesdays – Fridays 8 am – 5 pm, Saturdays 6 am – 5 pm)

South Hampton Farmer’s Market – May – October (Saturdays 8 am – 1 pm)
(this website is no longer active and I couldn’t find any other information about this market. It’s possible that this information is not accurate or the market no longer operates)

Tower Grove Farmer’s Market – May 8 – October 23 (Saturdays 8:30 am – 12:30 pm)

Washington University School of Medicine Local Growers Farmer’s Market – April 15 – mid October (Thursdays 11-4:30)
This information came from a reader who said that the market is actually open to 5 pm, and that he heard that the hours might extend earlier and later than officially announced. He also provided a map of the location for those of us not familiar with the Medical School campus.

Looks like the Troy Waterfront market hyperlink is actually linking to Troy, NY. Here I was excited about a year round farmer’s market out west, but no dice for this one. Please remove. Thanks.

William,

Thanks for catching the error. I removed the NY farmer’s market and did a little more digging. I found some updated information on the Troy, MO market in the Lincoln County paper. Granted, the info is sketchy, but apparently there will be a market in Troy this year.

Hi Karen! Looks like Webster Groves has just approved a farmer’s market. Info from Sauce magazine: http://www.saucemagazine.com/blog/?p=3644

Sappington, open year-round. If you want to expand to metro east, we have Belleville Farmer’s market x2 year-round and Swansea farmer’s market on Thursdays at Mel Price park May-Oct. And probably a lot more. :) http://www.localharvest.org/farmers-markets/
