A lot of buyers don’t need a big home or want the maintenance involved with a house. For these buyers, purchasing a condo is a good alternative.
An added bonus for condo buyers is that they are almost always less expensive compared to buying a house in the same area with the same quality of finishes.
Condos are available in many price points from extremely affordable to luxury units.
Here are a few representative condos that give you an idea of what you could buy in Creve Coeur, a West County St. Louis suburb.
Creve Coeur Condos – $100,000 or less:
Creve Coeur has a number of affordable condos. Carriage House Manor Condos are in easy walking distance to the AMC Creve Coeur movie theater, plenty of restaurants and even an ice cream parlor.
The building has secure underground parking, elevator access to the garage and floors, a comfortable lobby with a piano and even a community card room. While most of the condos in Creve Coeur are in the Parkway North high school boundaries, this building is located in the boundaries of Ladue High School, one of the top schools in the St. Louis area.
The condo currently available in Carriage House Manor Condos is listed for $89,900. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a large living room, dining room and an eat-in kitchen. Bonus features include a huge master closet, washer/dryer in the unit and a large balcony for outside relaxation. Plus, all of the flooring and paint is new, so it’s completely move-in ready.
Creve Coeur Condos – $125,000:
If you have $125,000 to spend, you have a lot of choices for condos in Creve Coeur.
This condo sold for $123,000 in spring. As part of the Villas on Olive community that was converted from apartments to condos a few years ago, it has been completely updated. It is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse with a basement. As an FHA approved condo community, you can also get a loan with a lower down payment in this community than on many others in the area.
Creve Coeur Condos – $150,000:
At the peak of the housing market these 4 level unique townhomes in Creve Coeur’s Somerfor Place Condominiums were selling for just under $200,000. Prices have dropped dramatically in the last few years and offer buyers a great opportunity today.
This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhome was renovated in 2007 and recently sold for $150,000. Located in the popular Parkway School District, it has 2 bedrooms with private balconies, the largest jacuzzi bathtub I have every seen and it’s own little backyard.
There’s actually a bit of a price gap in the Creve Coeur area, and there were no condos that sold between $160,000 and $220,000 so far this year.
Creve Coeur Condos – $225,000:
For buyers wanting the convenience of Creve Coeur but the feel of new construction, Mill Crossing Condos is a good option.
This 8 year old 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo recently sold for $225,000. It has over 1600 sf and feels like new. With granite counters, stainless appliances, crown molding and a massive master closet, it’s hard to beat this elevator access building with underground garage parking.
Creve Coeur Condos – $275,000:
For homeowners who are ready to downsize from a home to a condo, but aren’t ready to go into something that feels like a small apartment, Golfview Condos is a good option.
This 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathroom condo with almost 2400 sf sold this month for $270,000.
It is perfect for someone with a house full of furniture, since the floor plan includes an eat-in kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room and 2 garage spaces too.
Creve Coeur Condos – $500,000:
Creve Coeur buyers looking for prestigious communities can find what they want as long as they are willing to shell out some cash.
This Chatfield Place unit in the Ladue School District part of Creve Coeur was actually discounted because it is ready for some updates from it’s new owner. With 2 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and almost 2900 sf, it is part of a small 14 villa community.
